Partnerships that Change Lives
At Pacific City Church, we believe that serving others is one of the highest callings and a vital way to live out the love of Jesus. Pac City Impact was created with this mission in mind, offering a hands-on approach to making a difference in Los Angeles and beyond. Rooted in the belief that God calls us to love our neighbors actively, Pac City Impact partners with organizations that are dedicated to meeting essential needs and empowering vulnerable populations. Through collaborative projects and committed volunteers, we strive to bring hope, healing, and tangible support to those facing challenges like homelessness, food insecurity, and systemic poverty.
Our mission goes beyond offering assistance; we aim to build lasting relationships that restore dignity, encourage self-sufficiency, and reflect God’s compassion.
We understand that the impact of service is magnified through collaboration. That’s why Pac City Impact has partnered with several local and international organizations that are making a significant difference in the lives of those they serve. Each partnership allows us to bring unique skills, resources, and perspectives to address complex issues like homelessness, hunger, and the cycle of poverty. Here’s a closer look at our primary partners:
OPCC/Hand 2 Hand: OPCC (now part of The People Concern) is one of LA’s oldest and largest social services agencies, focusing on solutions for homelessness, health, and domestic violence. Through Hand 2 Hand, our volunteers provide food, clothing, hygiene kits, and other essentials to homeless and underserved populations in Los Angeles. Working alongside OPCC helps us bring direct support to people in need, while also learning more about the broader issues that contribute to homelessness.
Imagine LA: Imagine LA is dedicated to breaking the cycle of family homelessness through mentorship, housing support, and employment resources. Pac City Impact members join Imagine LA in mentoring families, offering emotional support, practical guidance, and hope. Through this partnership, we help families achieve stability and build the foundation for a brighter future.
Upward Bound House: Upward Bound House serves homeless families with children, helping them transition from crisis situations into stable housing. Through our partnership, Pac City Impact volunteers engage in activities that support these families during a critical period in their lives. From providing moving assistance to organizing playtime for children, we walk alongside families as they rebuild and find security.
Jessie’s Place Rwanda: Extending our reach globally, Pac City Impact supports Jessie’s Place Rwanda, an organization dedicated to providing shelter, education, and healthcare for children orphaned or affected by poverty and genocide. By partnering with Jessie’s Place, we not only send financial support but also raise awareness within our congregation about global justice issues and the importance of compassion without borders.
Areas of Focus and Outreach Activities
Pac City Impact is committed to serving a variety of needs within Los Angeles and globally, working through targeted areas of outreach that align with our values and our partners’ missions:
Food and Basic Necessities Distribution: Every month, Pac City Impact hosts events where volunteers distribute food, hygiene kits, blankets, and other essentials. By reaching out to homeless encampments, shelters, and underserved neighborhoods, we ensure that the basic needs of our community members are met with dignity and compassion.
Mentorship and Life Skills Training: Our partnership with Imagine LA allows volunteers to provide mentorship to families overcoming homelessness. This role goes beyond offering material help—it’s about empowering individuals with life skills, job readiness, and emotional support. By helping them gain confidence and practical skills, we hope to break the cycle of homelessness for these families.
Child and Youth Support: Many of the families we serve through Upward Bound House and Jessie’s Place Rwanda include children who need a sense of stability and joy during challenging times. Pac City Impact volunteers organize activities, provide educational support, and offer mentorship to children and youth, creating safe spaces where they feel valued and encouraged.
Community Health and Wellbeing: Understanding the intersection between health and homelessness, Pac City Impact supports local efforts to provide healthcare access to homeless populations. This includes collaborating with healthcare volunteers to offer basic health screenings, sharing wellness resources, and educating people on how to seek medical assistance.
Seasonal Initiatives and Special Events: During holidays and special occasions, we organize events to spread joy and create a sense of community. From Thanksgiving meal distributions to Christmas gift drives, these events provide comfort and remind people that they are cared for.
How to Get Involved
Our Pac City Impact ministry is always looking for passionate individuals who feel called to serve others. There are several ways you can make a difference:
Volunteer: Sign up to join our monthly outreach events or serve with one of our partner organizations. Whether you’re distributing meals, mentoring families, or supporting youth, there’s a place for you to use your gifts.
Donate: Your financial contributions allow us to purchase supplies, support our partner organizations, and expand our reach. Every donation makes a direct impact on the lives of those we serve.
Advocate: Help us spread the word about homelessness, family support, and global justice issues. Advocacy is a powerful tool for raising awareness and inspiring others to take action.
Pray: We believe in the power of prayer and encourage our community to pray for the people we serve, our partner organizations, and our volunteers. Pray for strength, wisdom, and the resources needed to continue this vital work.
